Composition & Design

With 6 different color choices, you’ll surely find something to your liking from Aspire Odan. The body of the tank is constructed out of stainless steel, with a diamond-cut crystal tube and heat resistant resin drip tip. The pre-installed 5ml tank is round, but the glass itself is a bit curved and has a beautiful pattern. It’s allegedly able to withstand hotter temperatures without suffering as much wear and tear as other conventional materials.

On the top is an 810 honeycomb drip tip that matches the color of the device. The fit is very nice and snug, but still easily detachable from the rest of the device. It comes with two o-rings already pre-installed. Right below it is a top cap through which the device will be refilled.

It works on a pull & push basis, which is indicated by a tiny arrow. This also acts as a sort of a child safety mechanism, as well as to prevent accidental opening and spillage of the e-liquid.

The bottom has three relatively narrow cutouts for the airflow, which are evenly spaced out. These can be adjusted through the airflow control ring, which has an in-built stopper to lock down on each of the holes. The high polish PVD coating ensures long term smooth operation. Airflow stops are very firm – they’re modified with no hassle and stay in place once you set them up.

Coil Installation

Coils are accessed through the bottom portion of the tank where the airflow is located. This is also a prerequisite for detaching the top part, which must be done if you want to replace the tank. Replacing the coil is a simple process that takes only a few steps;

  1. Unscrew the bottom airflow piece.
  2. Grab the protruding part of the coil and pull.
  3. Align the new coil with the opening and push firmly.
  4. Screw the bottom back on.

As you can see, the coils are installed on a plug & play basis. One added convenience is that the side coil channels on the chimney are closed. This means that even if your tank is completely full, not a single drop will be spilled during the coil replacement.

Aspire Odan Sub-Ohm Tank

Coil Characteristics

– 0.18ohm Mesh Coil

The strongest out of the bunch, this coil is rated at 60-80W. As far as vapor production is concerned, this one is an absolute powerhouse. The 0.18ohm mesh coil offers very strong, harsh hits that won’t leave you wishing for anything else. It will drain your battery a bit faster, but it’s nothing too drastic, especially if your vaporizer has a medium-large battery capacity.

– 0.2ohm Mesh Coil

Unsurprisingly, the 0.2ohm variant provides a slightly warmer vape and somewhat richer clouds. It’s rated at 50-60W, and although the gap seems quite big compared to the 0.3ohm coil, it’s not very noticeable. This coil, too, can work very effectively even at 10W above what it’s rated at. However, if you’re trying to conserve battery life, you should stick to the lower wattages for maximum efficiency.

– 0.3ohm Mesh Coil

This is the primary coil that comes pre-installed with the device. Even though it’s rated at 35-45W, which is a reasonably low power requirement, it’s still able to perform quite well even at 5-10W above the recommended limit. Keep in mind that this is an entirely new coil family, specifically designed for the Odan, so that it won’t be compatible with any other tank.

Don’t let the seemingly low wattage turn you away. In terms of vapor production and vape warmth, it’s able to keep up with a lot of other brands that have higher requirements.

Performance

It’s clear from the get-go that the Aspire Odan tank was mainly made for DTL vaping. The airflow does make a difference, but it manages to provide a very solid and enjoyable experience regardless of the settings. When fully open with no restriction, the vapor is rich, while the flavor is less potent and noticeable.

As it gets more closed and restricted, the flavors start to shine, and the hits are direct. Closing it all the way makes for a tight and warm vape, but it still retains excellent performance.

Aspire ODAN Performance

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Beautiful and stylish design
  • Coils are swapped very easily
  • Simple to refill
  • Adjustable airflow for DTL vaping
  • No leaks with the shutoff valve
  • Incredible flavor and vapor production
  • Low battery consumption

Cons

  • It is quite bulky for a sub-ohm tank
  • Somewhat weaker flavor with unrestricted airflow

Verdict

The Aspire Odan Tank is a very good choice if you plan on using a more significant device. With the relatively large dimensions, it’s going to fit in perfectly. The coils have shown incredible performance at low wattages, and there’s also the low battery usage factor. It’s very easy to use, with coil replacement only taking a couple of seconds. If you’re a fan of DTL vaping, attractive designs, and overall good devices – this is the right choice for you.
