In today’s review post, I’ll be looking at one of the most powerful starter kits – the Joyetech Ego AIO. First and foremost, this vape pen boasts of an all-in-one (AIO) style, which means that all the parts have been built together.
It’s also capable of supporting both direct to lung vaping as well as mouth to lung vaping and features an inbuilt 1500mAh battery. Additionally, it features a 2ml leak-proof glass tank that has a top fill system and a childproof lock placed on it.
If you ask me, I will say this vape pen is the perfect starter kit for any beginner vaper or for those aiming to quit smoking altogether.

Below are some exciting features you’ll get in the Joyetech Ego AIO:
If you’re into flashy things, getting this device should certainly be at the top of your agenda. That said, the unibody construction of this vape pen feels cool in hand, and it features just one button. And unlike other starter kits that have multiple parts such as a tank and battery, the AIO has them all built together.
This type of construction gives it a uniform look as well as offering the user a hassle-free experience. You can get this unit in seven distinct colors, which are Silver, Black, Red/white, Black/white, and Black/grey.
The EGO AIO is fitted with a top fill tank that has a mere 2ml e-liquid capacity. Although Joyetech claims that you’ll get up to at least 150 pulls with this tank, I still feel like you should get prepared for those frequent refills. You should also keep in mind that the tank is not removable, but you’re guaranteed by the manufacturer that it’s completely leak-free.
And of course, refilling the 2ml top fill tank shouldn’t give you any problems. In addition to that, you’ll get a childproof lock which acts as a top fill lid. This means that you’ll need to gently push down the lid to open it. All in all, I feel that this is certainly a step in the right direction by Joyetech.
The EGO AIO starter kit is packaged with two 0.6ohm SS atomizer heads, which resemble those used in the Cubis. Other coils compatible with this unit include the 1ohm SS 316, 0.2ohm Ni200, 1.5ohm Clapton (MTL), and the 0.6ohm SS316. This should give you plenty of options to choose from depending on your vaping style.
I tried the 1.5ohm coil as well as the 0.6ohm atomizer head, and I was really impressed by the flavor and vapor produced. You should, however, be advised that this device isn’t for you if you’re a flavor chaser. So if you’re not a beginner, you shouldn’t expect much here.
If you’re used to those sub ohm tanks, you might find the draw in this kit to be slightly restrictive. I, however, find the direct to lung draw to be okay, but it’s still not anywhere near anything produced by sub ohm tanks. For good MTL inhales, you’ll have to turn the airflow dots to 90 degrees. In short, the draw in this kit is good enough for all the guys looking to get their first vape.
This vape pen comes with a 1500mAh cell, which is capable of the voltage output of up to 3.9V. I find this to be pretty impressive considering its small stature. In fact, this battery is even more powerful than ones found in bigger starter kits like the much-hyped Innokin Endura T18, which boasts of a mere 1000mAh battery.
Moving forward, you can charge the battery via the Micro USB charging port using the provided USB cable. Simply connect the charging cable to either your smartphone charger or to your laptop and then wait for around an hour or two. Don’t forget that you can get up to 350 pulls per charge, which is pretty okay.
And to know whether the device is fully charged, you’re provided an LED light around the firing button that goes off after the charging process is complete. You can even choose to change the LED light color.
Just turn off the unit by pressing the firing button 5 times and then long press it again until you see different colors. Now you can click the button to choose your favorite color option (there’re seven colors actually).
Being a starter kit, the Joyetech Ego is designed to be simple to use. It only takes a short while for this kit to charge fully, and it’s also compatible with several atomizer heads.
I tried using a 0.6ohm coil with a semi-charged battery, and the amount of clouds produced was outstanding. You can also get clouds of different sizes if you decide to switch between the two adjustable drip-tips. Finally, it comes with a very efficient airflow adjustment ring for switching between tighter and fuller draws.
Pros and Cons of Joyetech Ego AIO
• Pocket-friendly device – You can get this starter kit for not more than $25.
• Child proof cap – This design makes it easy to refill and secure the tank.
• Small in size – This unit is tiny in size, which should make it fit seamlessly in your pocket. There’re also no leakages to worry about while it’s in your pocket.
• A wide array of coils to select from
• Extended battery life thanks to its 1500mAh battery
• 2ml capacity isn’t something to cheer about
• The airflow control is quite difficult to adjust
The Joyetech EGO AIO is undoubtedly a stand-out device that most new vapers out there would like. And although it doesn’t boast of that sleek or elegant design you were hoping for, you’ll still be impressed by its looks. With this vape pen, you’ll also get a user-friendly and straightforward vaping experience without sacrificing the overall performance of the unit.
So, if you’re used to those big box mods with rebuildable atomizers, it’s time to consider the EGO AIO, especially if you’re an on-the-go vaper. And yes, I find the price to be an absolute steal.
